Handy Looking Forward to Jesters Test

By Rachel Walklet, 02/28/20, 4:45PM CST

Head Coach Chris Handy let us know his thoughts on the 2020 NPSL Schedule and what caught his attention the most.

Q: Does it make it more difficult to start the season when playing against a brand new opponent?

"All the opponents are brand new to me!"

Q: What fixture jumped out to you the most?

"Obviously the back-to-back [games] with AFC Mobile and Jacksonville are unique."

Q:  Does having back-to-back games affect your strategy when going into the games, knowing that you'll be playing them again the following week?

"Those will be four difficult games with the teams trying everything to get the first [fixture], then having to make adjustments and give even more effort to produce a good result in the second."

Q: Any other fixtures jump out at you?

"I look forward to going to play the Jesters. I can remember playing them when I was in college. The environment was really fun and to have the ability to walk into that as a coach, and fight for a result, will be fun."

Port City's first game of the season is at home on May 9th against the New Orleans Jesters at 7pm. Make sure to check our website and social media for announcements regarding tickets!
